The HIV-1 RNA Quantification with Reflex to Genotypic Drug Resistance test measures HIV-1 RNA levels in plasma and, if detected, identifies genotypic mutations linked to resistance against reverse transcriptase, protease, and integrase inhibitors. This comprehensive test supports treatment decisions for individuals with HIV-1 infection.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
- Measuring plasma HIV-1 RNA levels (viral load) in individuals (including children) with confirmed HIV-1 infection, then identifying HIV-1 genotypic mutations linked to resistance against nucleotide and non-nucleoside reverse-transcriptase inhibitors, protease inhibitors, and integrase strand transfer inhibitors.
- Assisting in the initiation or modification of combination antiretroviral therapy in individuals, including children, with HIV-1 infection.
